Welcome to the Barnsley Road Club Website. Yorkshires premier cycling club

The Club was established in 1924 to promote cycling in the Barnsley area of South Yorkshire, England.

We cover most aspects of cycle sport with members regularly Time Trialling Road Racing, Track Racing and Audax.

We also run a weekly evening ten mile time trial during the summer months and a Sunday run every week throughout the year.

Pedal for Pounds - South. (2010)

George Miles has once again been working with Yorkshire Cancer Research to organise a charity ride in the area to the east of Doncaster, that being the area around Wroot, Owston and Misterton. This years date is a week later than last year, it`s SUNDAY OCTOBER 3RD. I have bit more work to do on the routes as I am hoping to change to more `cycling friendly` ones.

Yorkshire Cancer Research have a lot of experience in raising funds for this worthy cause and I trust that ALL our members will take some part, be it riding, marshalling or helping out in what ever way you can to make this event a resounding success.

I am sure that most of our members at some time have been touched in some way by this terrible desease, maybe a friend, a Grandparent, a Parent or someone even closer.

Cancer can strike anybody, (unlike other problems that can be avoided with a healthier lifestyle), even people that are fit like us cyclists can find ourselves suffering from it, so lets make this event on the 3rd October, that carries the Barnsley Road Club name, a special one and show why we are Yorkshires' premier cycling club, help find a cure for Cancer.
