Welcome to the Barnsley Road Club Website. Yorkshires premier cycling club

 

The Club was established in 1924 to promote cycling in the Barnsley area of South Yorkshire, England.

 

We cover most aspects of cycle sport with members regularly Time Trialling Road Racing, Track Racing and Audax.

 

We also run a weekly evening ten mile time trial during the summer months and a Sunday run every week throughout the year.

Ron Kitching  C.T.C. Challenge Ride & Sportive.    York    25th June 2011.

Ron Kitching was a star racing man, the founder of a cycling equipment empire and a key supporter of the CTC York Rally.  The route sets off from the York Cycle Show heading out acroos the Howardian  hills & the North Yorks Moors. It includes some killer climbs and includes an option to ride the 33% (1 in 3) slope of Rosedale Chimney.

Phil Liggett C.T.C. Challenge Ride & Sportive.   Sheffield,   South Yorks.

7th August 2011.

Cycling commentator & ex C.T.C. president Phil Liggett invites you to tackle the Peak District roads he used to send racers over when he was Race Director for the Milk Race.  The route includes the climbs of Holme Moss, Winnats Pass & Monsal Head.  A larger start & finish point has been added  for 2011. All finishers will receive a special edition Phil Liggett cycling cap.
